The Artist’s Forum
Back in 2011, Ben’s journey took an exciting professional turn at the Spirit of Enterprisein Haverfordwest. This innovative project, launched by the Pembrokeshire Business Initiative (PBI), was designed to give local creators a platform to showcase their talent and gain vital work experience in the heart of the community.

A Mother-Son Collaboration
Ben wasn't alone on this adventure; he joined the forum alongside his mother, Susan Chaple. Together, they became part of a vibrant collective of local artists and crafters, sharing ideas and displaying their work in a professional gallery setting. It was a true "entwined" effort that helped solidify the BCP brand we know today.
Learning the Craft of Commerce
For Ben, the Spirit of Enterprise was more than just an exhibition; it was a masterclass in the business of art. He spent over a year as a retained artist, learning how to curate a gallery, engage with customers, and see his "Toon" creations through the eyes of the public.
From Haverfordwest to the World
The experience gained during those 14 months was a vital stepping stone. It gave Ben the confidence to move from single sketches to the large-scale Graphic Novels he creates today. The "Spirit" of that project—the drive to create, collaborate, and contribute—is still at the heart of every BCP Toon that leaves his studio.
