A Lifelong Passion

Ben’s journey as an artist began at the age of six. For over 20 years, he has been sharing his unique perspective through shared exhibitions with Susan C, spanning from the Cotswolds to South West Wales. From school murals at Bush School to professional galleries, Ben’s art has always been part of the community fabric.

The Global Breakthrough (2006)

In 2006, Ben’s imagination captured the attention of Cartoon Network Studios (USA). He won a major international competition with his character, Grandfather (originally Darkfear), who was featured as the lead villain in the Codename: Kids Next Door movie. This milestone remains the foundation of his professional character-building expertise.

Professional Training & Mentorship

Ben has dedicated his career to refining both his artistic craft and business acumen:

  • Specialised Mentorship: Mentored by Cardiff’s Lloyd Roberts in Graffiti Art and character design.

  • Business Excellence: Completed the Prince’s Trust Business Course (2 years) and two further innovation courses at the Innovation Centre, Pembroke Dock.

  • Retained Artist: Served as a professional resident artist for Spirit of Enterprise, Haverfordwest (2011–2012).

Community & Public Projects

Ben is a central figure in the Pembrokeshire creative scene:

  • The Pembroke Dragons: Contributed hand-painted dragons to Dragon Alley and designed the official dragon character for the Pembroke Children’s Trail Map.

  • Pop-Up Pioneer: Co-founder of Pop-Up-West (Haverfordwest) and the Pembroke Pop-Up Shop. His next venture opens in Main Street, Pembroke in Spring 2026!

  • Panoramic Panache: Widely known for his intricate, hand-drawn panoramic views, a signature style sold in galleries across the county.

Published Works & Visual Storytelling

A working illustrator with deep ties to local literature:

  • Pembroke Papers: Current creator of the monthly BCP Comic Strip.

  • Book Illustration: Lead illustrator for the Pembroke Pub Poetry collection (available on Amazon), creating bespoke "Toons" for the group’s poets.

  • Photography: Actively supports local creative groups as an event photographer.

Current Mission: The Archive

Operating from his home studio, Ben is currently curating his Master Archive—a vast collection of Comics, Graphic Novels, picture books and other illustrated stories. He is now seeking a publishing partner to help bring these "entwined" universes to a global audience.
