The Operation D.R.A.W. Victory
Back in 2006, Ben’s creative journey hit a global high-note when he took part in the Cartoon Network "Operation D.R.A.W." competition. Out of thousands of entries, Ben’s character design didn’t just win—it earned him an official spot in the Codename: Kids Next Door comic universe!
Introducing: Numbuh 700

Winning the competition gave Ben his professional debut as an official KND operative: Agent Numbuh-Seven-Double-Oh. In the special comic strip Stickybeard, Red Alert, The Sweet Revenge, Ben's character was drawn into the thick of the action.
A Pirate’s Life for BCP
In a classic KND twist, Ben’s character went through a total transformation! During the story, Numbuh 700 was "carbonised" by the candy-loving villain Stickybeard and forced to dress up as a pirate. Seeing his own creation—and himself as a character—interacting with legendary heroes and villains was the ultimate "spark" that proved Ben's high-functioning imagination belonged on the world stage.
From Contest Winner to Graphic Novelist
This debut wasn’t just a one-off win; it was the foundation of the BCP Archive. It showed Ben that his characters could hold their own in a major professional publication. Today, as he works on his own Comic Books and Graphic Novels, he carries that same "Numbuh 700" spirit—ready for adventure, a bit of a giggle, and always creative under pressure!
