The Birth of a Style

Every universe has a "Year Zero," and for the BCP Toon People, that year was 2010. While Ben had been drawing since he was three, this was the moment his "thought-first" process truly locked into place. His subject? A good friend named Dan Evans.

The First "Toon" Intuition

Before the pencil even hit the paper, Ben spent time working out Dan’s personality in his mind. He wanted to capture more than just a likeness; he wanted to find the "Aura" of his friend. This sketch became the blueprint for Ben’s signature style—blending the bold, expressive energy of Anime with the warm, relatable heart of a Pembrokeshire local.

A 15-Year Legacy

Looking back at this 2010 sketch of Dan, you can see the meticulous shading and depth that Ben still uses today. It was the first time Ben realized he could turn the people he knew into "Top Characters" with their own stories and "entwined" lives. Dan wasn't just a friend; he became the first-ever citizen of what would grow into the massive BCP Archive.

From One Friend to a Whole Universe

That single sketch sparked a decade and a half of creativity. Since drawing Dan, Ben has gone on to "Toon" hundreds of locals, famous faces, and fictional heroes. But it all started here—with a simple pencil, a great friend, and an infectious giggle that said: "I think I’ve found my style!"
