A Giant Commission
The BCP universe isn’t always confined to a sketchbook! One of Ben’s most visual community projects involved stepping away from the desk and picking up a paintbrush for Dragon Alley. Alongside his mother, Susan, Ben was tasked with bringing a series of seven-foot dragons to life for a local children’s adventure shop.

From Walls to Pages
These massive, vibrant characters became an instant hit, capturing the "Aura" of Pembroke's mythical history. But the impact didn't stop there. Seeing Ben's ability to create such expressive, large-scale characters caught the attention of the local literary scene. It was through the success of these dragons that Ben began to receive his first commissions to illustrate books for local authors.
Gallery & Library Showcases
While the dragons were guarding the adventure shop, Ben was also busy creating large-scale original paintings for the community. His work has been featured in local Libraries and Galleries, proving that his "Toon" style carries just as much weight in a formal exhibition as it does on a comic book page.
A Multi-Talented Illustrator
Whether he is painting a giant dragon or a detailed book cover, Ben’s intuitive "spark"remains the same. This period of his career was a major turning point, bridging the gap between street-level art and the professional world of published illustration.
